John F. Gallagher III is a partner with THE FARRELL LAW FIRM, P.C.

Mr. Gallagher is a Patent Attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Courts of the State of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. Gallagher has been admitted pro hac vice to practice before the Southern District of California, the District of New Jersey, the Western District of Texas and the Western District of Michigan.

He received his law degree from St. John's University School of Law and was awarded a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from S.U.N.Y. Maritime College.

Mr. Gallagher is a Professional Engineer, New York State (Inactive), as well as a Lieutenant, United States Naval Reserve (Ret.).

Mr. Gallagher is experienced in all phases of litigation including patent, trademark and copyright litigation, licensing, trade secrets and unfair competition. He has represented clients in litigations involving patent infringement, patent invalidity, design patent invalidity, Internet metadata usage, trademark infringement, copyright infringement and contract matters. He has also served as an expert technical witness and expert witness on patent law.

Mr. Gallagher's practice includes patent and trademark prosecution, as well as licensing matters. Mr. Gallagher's experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in technology fields of wireless telecommunications, electronics, medical devices, shipboard systems and Internet-related technologies. He has also represented clients in reexamination and opposition proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Gallagher has prepared and filed appeals before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and has initiated and concluded reissue applications.
